Exmouth has two miles of golden sand beach with dunes to explore for the children. Lying at the mouth of the river Exe, Exmouth is the perfect location for a holiday in all seasons.
The town has a wide variety of shops including an indoor market and many good restaurants and cafés. There are a number of parks in and around the town.
Exmouth lies at the start of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) World Heritage Jurassic Coast, with stunning views, scenic walks and cycle rides along the coast. There are numerous activities and attractions available locally, including, pony trekking and fishing from the beach. Hire a bike and cycle the Exe Trail Cycle path; or explore the Jurassic Coast and go fossil hunting at Charmouth. Walk the coastal paths to Budleigh Salterton and then enjoy a scenic walk along the river Otter to Otterton Mill. Explore the local towns and villages with their fishermen’s cottages, local shops and numerous golf courses A variety of water activities can be enjoyed during your stay, including sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, jet ski, wake boarding and water skiing. There are various boat and fishing trips from the marina area, either on the sea or along the Exe estuary. Boat trips are available to Starcross, Dawlish and Dawlish Warren nature reserve; which extends across a large part of the estuary and is home to many birds and other wildlife. With both railway and bus stations in Exmouth and easy access from M5 (junction 30) Exmouth is an ideal location to explore Devon and the South West of England. Just a short rain ride along the beautiful Exe Estuary will take you to the city of Exeter with its cathedral, shops, restaurants and many other attractions. Exeter airport is 10 miles by car. Whatever the time of year there is always something to do. Relax on the beach in the sunshine, see the sights, enjoy one of the many festivals held in the town or in the winter why not join the Christmas Day swim or the Boxing Day fun run.
